  15. ABSTRACT:
  16. This file contains patches for the Xtrieve 4.01 products, including Xtrieve
  17. Plus (4.01a) for DOS and OS/2, Xtrieve Single User, and Report Executive. 
  18. The BUGS.401 file says patch 103 as the latest patch for Xtrieve.  Also
  19. included are patches for XQLP v2.01a (DOS and OS/2) and XQLPO that shipped
  20. with Xtrieve.  The BUGS.201 file lists patch 33 as the last patch.  New EXE
  21. utilities are included, which accompany Xtrieve such as XCFP and XMENU. 
  22. ALL updates you need for Xtrieve 4.01 are included in this file.

  60.            README FOR XTRIEVE v4.01a PATCHES (and XQL v2.01 patches)

  62. This README file of XTR401.EXE accompanies the patches for XTRIEVE v4.01a
  63. and XQLP(O) version 2.01.  The patches are for DOS network, single user,
  64. and OS/2 environments.

  67.    XTRIEVE PATCH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  70. This set of patches contains batch files to correct all the known problems
  71. in XTRIEVE version 4.01.  To install the patches follow these steps:
  72.  
  73. 1. Copy all the files to the directory on your system that contains the
  74. file(s) to be patched and make this the default directory.
  75.

  79. * NOTE: Make sure that you are patching the original (unpatched) released
  80. version of the software.  Patching a patched version may cause
  81. unpredictable errors.

  85. 2. Make sure that PI.EXE is available on the system. (PI.EXE is a patch
  86. utility provided by NOVELL to install product patches- it may be used in
  87. DOS or OS/2 environments).

  89. 3. Run the batch file(s) relevant to your situation:
  90.  
  91.           PATCH401.BAT    :corrects all XTRIEVE 4.01 products
  92.  
  93.           Files with a .ORG extension are the original unpatched version of
  94. the product.  They are created the first time you patch the ORIGINAL
  95. software for the type specified.

  97.           *** MAKE SURE THE FIRST TIME YOU PATCH- YOU ARE PATCHING THE
  98. ORIGINAL AND NOT A PATCHED COPY

  100. * NOTE: A parameter list is given when you type the batch file name.
